The International Film Festival of Panama will take place in two very important venues: the historic Teatro Nacional, located in the Old Quarter of Panama, and the modern movie theatres of the Cinemark Multicentro complex in downtown Panama City.
Both sites provide unique contributions to the Festival. The Cinemark theatres in Multicentro, which will screen 50 movies scheduled in 120 regular shows, were remodeled in 2011 to offer new amenities. Its 9 theatres with a capacity for 1,782 people have an unparalleled sound system and extremely comfortable seats.
While the regular shows take place in a modern environment distinguished by the best technological standards, the Red Carpet events will be surrounded by the spectacular aura of the historic and traditional Teatro Nacional. Built in the predominant neo-classical style which characterized many of the official buildings of the time, the Teatro Nacional exhibits frescoes by Roberto Lewis and has been witness to the performances of famous artists such as Alicia Alonso, Margot Fonteyn, Jaime and Nelly Ingram, and Alfredo de Saint Malo. Without a doubt, the Teatro Nacional is truly an icon of the best in Panamanian culture.
We have included a Google Map showing the location of both venues, Cinemark Multicentro and Teatro Nacional. You may also use the directions feature available in the new mobile phones that are equipped with Google Maps.
