The film gem which triumphed in festivals around the world, and which was brought to public light in this past edition of the Oscar Awards of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in the United States, has confirmed its participation in the International Film Festival of Panama (IFF Panamá).

The winner of this past Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), "A Separation" from Iran will officially be a part of the IFF Panama line up.

“We are very pleased to receive in Panama this marvelous film which represents the best of films around the world, so that Panamanians and visitors of IFF Panama will have the opportunity to appreciate an absolute gem of a film, in a first class event within the entertainment industry”, commented Henk Van Der Kolk, director of IFF Panama.

"A Separation", winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, was directed by Asghar Farhadi, who is also the creator of important works such as "About Elly" and "Beautiful City". It is the powerful drama of a married couple with one daughter, who must deal with the illness of the husband’s father while facing the possibility of living in better conditions outside of their native Iran.

Farhadi’s film has already been awarded with a Golden Bear from Berlin and a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film.  It was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay in this year’s Oscar Awards, as well as nominated for Best Foreign Film in the French Cesar Awards, the British BAFTA, Sweden’s Guldbagge Awards, the National Board of Review Awards, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and the Independent Spirits Awards.
